Ingredients
  • 3 TBSP Canola Oil
  • 1 Cup Finely Diced Yellow Onion
  • 3 TBSP White all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp Minced Garlic
  • 1/4 tsp Rosemary (dry)
  • 1/4 tsp Thyme (dry)
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 1/2 Cups Water
  • 1 TBSP Chicken Flavored vegan or vegetable broth powder (See Note below)
  • 2 - 3 Patties Vejje Breakfast Sausage Patties (prepared and cooked)
Instructions
  1. Heat the oil on medium heat and add the diced onions. Sauté the onions on low heat for about 10 to 12 minutes or until the onions are medium brown & caramelized.
  2. Add the garlic, rosemary, thyme and a pinch of black pepper and continue stirring for about 30 seconds.
  3. Add the flour to create a roux and continue cooking, stirring constantly until the roux begins to develop a light brown roasted color and scent.
  4. Add half of the water and stir with a whip until evenly dispersed. Add the remaining water & broth powder and stir with a whip until evenly dispersed.
  5. Let simmer on low heat for about 5 minutes. Taste and add additional pepper if desired.
  6. Crumble prepared Vejje Sausage-Free Breakfast Patties into the gravy and serve immediately over toast, biscuits, mashed potatoes or just about anything! We like to enjoy this delicious gravy over sprouted whole wheat toast along a side of greens.
