Ingredients
  • 3 TBSP extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1 Cup finely chopped onions
  • 1/2 Cup Shredded Carrots
  • 1 1/2 TBSP Freshly Minced Garlic
  • 5 TBSP all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 Cups Water
  • 2 TBSP chicken-flavored broth powder (We like Eco-Cuisine Broth Powder)
  • 1 1/4 Cups plus 2 TBSP White Wine
  • 1/4 Cup lemon juice
  • 6 tsp capers
  • 7 Vejje Chicken-Free Patties Prepared and cooked according to directions on Vejje Chicken-Free package
  • Several springs chopped parsley ` (optional for garnish)
Instructions
  1. Heat the oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Add the onions, carrots and garlic and sauté over low-medium heat for 5 to 7 minutes or until onions are soft and transparent.
  2. Gradually add the flour, stirring constantly until totally dissolved.
  3. Add the water and broth powder and continue stirring until the mixture becomes thick.
  4. Add the wine, lemon juice and capers and stir. Continue cooking the sauce over low heat for about a minute more.
  5. Serve sauce over prepared Vejje Chicken Patties
