Ingredients
  • 1/4 Cup Canola Oil
  • 2 Cups Onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 TBSP Minced Garlic
  • 1 1/2 Cups BBQ Sauce (use homemade or your favorite commercial sauce)
  • 1/2 Cup Water
  • 7 - 8 Vejje Chicken-Free Patties Prepared and cooked according to directions on Vejje Chicken-Free Mix Package
Instructions
  1. Heat a pan over medium or medium low heat and add the canola oil and sliced onions.
  2. Sauté the onions, stirring occasionally, until onions are very soft and nicely browned, about 12 to 15 minutes.
  3. Cut the prepared Vejje Chicken-Free Patties into thin slices and set aside.
  4. Add the sliced Vejje Chicken to the onions along with the BBQ sauce, water and garlic.
  5. Reduce heat to low and cook for 15 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent burning but try not to stir too much as you want texture to resemble “pulled pork”.
TIPS
  1. Leftover Vejje BBQ Chicken freezes beautifully.
  2. Serve Vejje BBQ Chicken with cornbread or fresh corn on the cob.
  3. Vejje BBQ Chicken also tastes great on a toasted bun.
