Easy Vejje Sausage-Free Pasta Sauce

Ingredients
  • 1 bag DRY Vejje Sausage-Free Mix
  • 2 tsp Ground Fennel
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder (use more to taste)
  • 2 tsp Dry Italian Seasoning (optional but recommended)
  • 2 TBSP Olive or Avocado Oil (use less for reduced oil)
  • 2 cups hot water
  • 1 or more jars Marinara Sauce (use your favorite)
Instructions
  1. Mix dry ingredients together in a large bowl. Add hot tap water and oil and stir until fully mixed. Cover and set aside for 20 to 25 minutes.
  2. Using your hands, crumble the mixture into an oiled skillet and lightly brown for 6 to 10 minutes. Remove crumbles from skillet.
  3. In the same skillet place marinara sauce and desired amount of crumbles and bring to simmer. Heat thoroughly and serve over cooked pasta.
Recipe Notes

Freeze (up to 3 months) or refrigerate (5 to 7 days) leftover Vejje Sausage Crumbles to use on pizza, casseroles, or to make additional pasta sauce in the future. If you use all of the Vejje Sausage Crumbles you will need to use at least 2 jars of Marinara Sauce.
