Ingredients
- 1 Bag DRY Vejje Italian Sausage-Free Mix
- 2 Cups COLD water
- 1 TBSP Olive oil
- 2 Jars / 25oz each Marinara Sauce (use your favorite brand)
- 1/4 Cup Water or Red Wine
Instructions
- Place one bag of dry mix in a bowl and add 2 Cups COLD water and 1 TBSP olive oil. Stir well. Cover and set aside for 10-15 minutes.
- Lightly oil a large non-stick pot (preferably a Dutch oven) and pre-heat over medium heat. Add the Vejje Italian Sausage mixture (from Step 1) to the pot and cook for 4-5 minutes, breaking it up with a wooden spoon or spatula as it cooks.
- Add both jars of pasta sauce and 1/4 Cup water or red wine to the Vejje Italian Sausage and simmer over low heat for 5 to 10 minutes. Add an additional 1/2 to 1 Cup water if a thinner sauce is desired.
TIPS
- Serve over your favorite cooked pasta, polenta or toasted country bread.
